  • Woke up in Utah to 12 inches of snow and I can't wait to run home to my 80 degree weather. Plus I miss the hubbs since he's out in the field but at least I'm inside shooting photos all weekend and seeing all my family! check out @shalyndavisphotography for behind the scenes💕
  • Took a small break from Instagram. I deleted the app and didn't check this account. I told myself 2 days, then 4 days then a week, it's been almost 3. I was addicted. I was spending so much time on my phone browsing through these little squares. I felt I had to post and document everything that happened in my life. Who I went to lunch with, what I ate, where I went, etc. it was controlling me. I was not okay with the person I was becoming. My feelings were hurt when I wasn't invited somewhere.. was I not cool enough? I wasn't getting anything done during the day. I use Instagram for my blog and business but that doesn't mean I can't and I don't need to take a break. This time without Instagram was so good for my soul. When I felt the need to browse insta, I texted someone I hadn't talked to in a while. I checked on friends, family, others who I had forgot about due to this app. I see everyone's posts and it makes me so happy to follow along and know what you are up to but actually having a convo with them was much more important then hitting the like button on their photo. I got a lot done without Instagram and I'll do breaks more often. I listened to my kids more, I cleaned more, I felt more in tune with myself then others. I learned more about myself and what I needed to stay happy. It doesn't matter how many followers you have, how cohesive your feed is, how many likes you may get, what matters is how good of a person you are, the people who support you, how good you are to others and to yourself. Not everything needs to be on insta. Draw the line somewhere. Take a break, get some fresh air, talk to someone you haven't in a while. It'll do some good and be worth it. I needed this, but I am glad to be back and to see everyone's photos! ♡ thanks for all those whose checked on me, I'm not dead! 😝 Now for those whose read alllllll that.. enjoy this photo of me holding a plant taken by good friend @alia.preston 🌿💁🏼
